Current Acne Routine & Products

Hi, babes!

With more time on my hands now, I’m hoping to start up Glitz and Glitter in full force and get back into the swing of things! In the past month, my face has been so confused and I have been getting breakouts like crazy! It is frustrating because I am embarrassed of my acne and I can’t cover them with makeup because it makes my skin break out even more so I have been looking for different solutions to help maintain my skin or at least limit my skin breaking out.

After a lot of looking, I think I have finally found the answer!

IMG_0740

I have three products that I use to help with my acne: Acne Free oil free acne cleanser, Proactiv refining mask, and Neutrogena blackhead eliminating cleanser/mask. These three products have saved my face and they are worth the investment!

IMG_0726

I found the Acne Free cleanser at Walmart a few weeks ago and I am already able to tell the difference in my skin. Right now there are only two pimples on my face and they are there because I wore makeup all day for two consecutive days. My skin hates makeup so there was no stopping the breakout! The cleanser is fragrance free, it treats acne, and helps prevent new acne breakouts. This product contains micronized benzoyl peroxide to treat in fighting acne. My skin feels so refreshed after using the cleanser and it doesn’t leave a residue like other washes I have used. I paid $2 at Walmart for the Acne Free cleanser in the clearance section but it typically retails for under $10, so it is really affordable!

IMG_0735

Once I cleanse my face, I go in with Neutrogena’s blackhead eliminating cleanser on my chin and nose. I also use it as a mask a few times a week and that alone helps get rid of my blackheads rapidly. With the Microclear technology in the cleanser, my blackheads have stayed away and don’t come back for a few days. My skin looks best when I use the cleanser every day, but sometimes I skip this step and just use the Acne Free cleanser. I found the Neutrogena cleanser/mask at Ross for $5.

IMG_0732

The Proactiv refining mask is a bit pricey but well worth it! It’s a sulfur treatment that I pop right onto my zits for 10 minutes and then wash off. My pimples always look better and less “angry” after I use the mask and it has become a routine part of my week when I have breakouts. I used to use the mask overnight on really bad breakouts and that worked fine for me, too. The mask retails for $38 dollars on the Proactiv website.

Makeup, dirt, oils, and hormones all factor into my acne and my skin breaking out but these three products are my life savers! Links for these products are below!

I hope you have a safe and spooky Halloween!

Neocell Beauty Supplement Review | PR

Hi, friends, and happy Thursday!

If you have been here for a while, you know I love beauty supplements and skincare things. When Jean from Neocell asked me if I would like to try two supplements, I jumped on it and said YES. I was sent the Neocell beauty chews and the Neocell Glow Matrix capsules.

The beauty chews claim to help grow your hair, skin, and nails, as well as firming your skin and giving it a glow. I was so excited to try them out because I have been trying to grow my hair out for a while now and regular biotin chews weren’t seeming to help. After a few weeks, I think my hair did grow faster and my nails definitely did! The collagen chews contain 5,000 MCG of biotin and vitamin C. The Neocell collagen chews are also non-GMO and gluten free! If you are looking at trying to grow your hair and nails quicker, it’s worth it to pick these chews up and try them out! I can’t guarantee that you will have results but I did and I didn’t think that I would.

20180510_123300718503910.jpg

The Glow Matrix capsules are really cool and I do think that they improved my skin! I stopped taking them recently and I have noticed a difference in the glow of my skin. Since I have stopped taking the capsules, my skin is looking a bit dull and my acne is popping up more again. The Glow Matrix capsules are designed to give your skin a glow from the inside out and they do! I am a skeptic when it comes to certain beauty supplements but these are a keeper for me. The only weird thing I noticed while taking the capsules is that it changed the color of my urine(TMI, sorry) for a few hours after I took the capsules. It isn’t a big deal and it isn’t harmful, but you might notice that if you take the Glow Matrix capsules. The same thing happened when I was taking Stress B-Complex supplements. I 100% recommend these capsules to get a summer glow!

Thank you, Jean, for sending me these products!

As usual, I hope you guys have an amazing day and a fabulous week! Make sure to connect with me on my social media accounts (linked below!). I love talking with you guys on social media; let’s be friends!

Until next time,

January Favorites

January Favorites banner

Happy Tuesday, my loves!

Today’s post is in collaboration with blogger and aspiring makeup artist Luci Barker! As I am sure you can tell by the title, this BP is all about my January favorites! Instead of just beauty items, I always like to include food, movies, music, etc. into favorites posts so you guys get a bit of variety. I feel like I haven’t written a favorites post in forever, so let’s get started!

Food

Two foods that I have been loving this month are Lenny and Larry’s Complete Cookie© and GourmetNut™ Power Up trail mix.

img_20180108_145538_102104570799.jpg

After I work out, I love something that is high in protein to munch on and Lenny and Larry’s Complete Cookie is one of my absolute favorites. I love the white chocolate macadamia, snickerdoodle, and the double chocolate cookies. There are so many different cookies to try and they also have protein brownies that have 20 grams of protein and muffins that have 15 grams of protein. The 4oz cookies are the ones that I buy in the stores and they have 16 grams of protein per cookie, which is 2 servings. All of Lenny and Larry’s yummy treats are very affordable and if you find them in stores, buy one and try it for yourself!

I don’t know about you, but I love trail mix! If a trail mix has cashews, peanuts, and a good variety of fruits, I will instantly be a repeat customer. GourmetNut™ has a really great line of Power Up protein trail mix that is a fruit and nut blend of cashews, peanuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, raisins, and cherries. I always grab a handful in a Ziploc and put it in my school bag so I have a snack to eat in between my college classes. Power Up trail mix is all natural, vegan, and gluten free. I buy mine at Walmart!

Beauty & Skincare

I recently purchased a cleansing power brush after seeing them all around Instagram. As of late, my skin has been breaking out and even with washing my face with charcoal soap and using other products, my face still broke out. Once I started using the brush, my face improved greatly! It really gets into my pores and whether I am using an acne targeting charcoal soap or a blackhead clearing baking soda cleanser, my skin looks so much better! I use the So Fresh So Clean© power cleansing brush and it is under $10 at Walmart.

This month, even though I have been using it for a wee bit but am just now using it regularly, I am so loving the Mario Badescu facial spray with rosewater, aloe, and herbs. I use it after I wash my face and it helps hydrate and tone my face. It smells really great, too!

Music

After seeing The Greatest Showman earlier this month, I have been loving the soundtrack! The music is soul touching and makes me want to dance around in a flowing dress while I belt my lungs out. The movie itself was also really good. I know some people were giving it bad reviews but I thought it was great. Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and the rest of the cast are stunning.

A few playlist that I love on Spotify are Pop Chill Out, Stepping Out With The Sixties, and All Out 80s. I listen to older music more often than I do newer music because I really dig the older sound and you can never go wrong with Fleetwood Mac or the Creedence Clearwater Revival!

So there you have it, my dears! My January monthly favorites! Make sure to go check out Luci’s post over on her blog!

Until next time!

Get Your Money Back: 2017 Product Flops

img_20171227_131008973626057.png

Hi, babes! Happy Thursday!

20171227_1111582073782878.jpg

Today’s post is a collection of my least favorite products from 2017.  I have a small bin full of products that were rather disappointing and I’m here to share them with you. Grab a snack, grab some tea, let’s go!
Note: please excuse some of the horrid photos! My camera failed to load the images properly so I just retook them on my phone in night lighting!

First up is the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine smoothing cream that is designed for “frizzy, dry, and unmanageable hair”.  I have naturally curly hair that likes to frizz out whenever a brush comes into close proximity with it so I had high hopes for this product.  It is supposed to 1) make your hair smooth and sleek, 2) make your hair 10x smoother, and 3) last in up to 97% humidity.  Let me tell you, it does not work on my hair.  I used the amount suggested and my hair laughed in its face, so I added some more product to tame (or in my case, slightly control) the mop of curls, but it only ended in my hair feeling thick, greasy, and overall gross.  I tried a few different ways to help my hair with this product and it just didn’t do what it said it would.  Into the “Bin of Shame” Garnier went.

While I was shopping at Rue21 months ago, I found a cream contour and correcting concealers palette and decided to give it a go.  Previously, I had never worked with cream contours or concealers, so I watched a load of videos to get an idea of how to apply them.  Even with the help of skilled direction, it didn’t work.  The brush is absolutely disgusting and clogs up with product, making it nearly impossible to use.  The creams didn’t want to blend out well and it was kind of chunky.  If you are looking to invest in a cream contour or color corrector palette, don’t get this one!

There are two more Rue21 Beauty products in the “Bin of Shame” and both of them are lip products with their own set of problems.  The first is a silver metallic lip cream with a matte finish.  This stuff does not budge! It dried into any and all fine lines in my lips and refused to come off, even with the power of a makeup remover wipe and scrubbing.  It isn’t very pigmented and you have to layer the product to get semi-decent coverage.

The nude lipstick in the shade (you guessed it) “Nude” is very strange. When you roll the tube out, it has an ombre look of me with a bad sunburn to a tan nude shade at the very tip.  The lipstick itself has a very nasty formula and it is so incredibly sheer.  It spreads around way too much and there is no way I would pay the $3 it retails for.  It was on clearance when I bought it and I paid $1, thankfully.

The next product that calls the “Bin of Shame” home is another nude lipstick.  It is the first and so far only product I own from Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore.  I love me some Drew, but this lipstick is a no go.  I bought the shade “Nude Narcissus”, which looked like a darker nude with brown tones.  I do love the packaging, though! Fun story: when I bought this, I thought the little clear part at the bottom had a lip balm in it like e.l.f. lipsticks do, so I hacked away at it for a good 10 minutes with a small utility knife.  I finally moved it enough to find out that it was painted and very much hollow.  I popped it back in its place and felt like such an idiot, but now I know that they don’t have a matching lip balm! Anyway, back to the product: I’m not a fan.  It doesn’t apply the same color on my lips as it looks like on the tube and I don’t like the formula.  It spreads around too much and I don’t like the coverage.  I do want to try other Flower Beauty products in the future, though!

Lastly, we have a age defying serum roller from Skin Nutritions.  The packaging said it was comparable to the age defy roller from Garnier, I believe, so I got it at the fraction of the price of the original.  I wore the formula under my eyes all night and it was really sticky when I got up the next morning.  I had to wash it off (which I don’t think you are actually supposed to) because I could not touch my under eyes.  It also makes your hands really sticky if you touch it.  It was another product that went into the “Bin of Shame”.

There you have it! The “Bin of Shame” is now empty and I hope it won’t have any products in it in 2018.

There will be a new post on Saturday and it is going to be the last post of 2017 on Glitz & Glitter! Stay tuned!

Lots of hugs!

Jamberry Nail Wraps from Laila | review

Jamberry nail wraps banner

Hi, babes! Welcome back to Glitz & Glitter, the best little place on the internet.  Here at Glitz & Glitter, we (and by “we”, I mean me, myself, and I) stand for happiness, uniqueness, and all things lovely.  If you want to be a part of the Glitz & Glitter Tribe, hit that follow button and you are automatically a part of the tribe!

Today’s review should have been up a while ago, but Blogtober called and then things in my life blew up, so the schedule was thrown out of whack.  A while back, a lovely gal named Laila sent me two sample packs of Jamberry nail wraps to try out and review and I can’t wait to tell you about them.  You have probably seen nail wraps before (they are also called nail stickers) in your local shop, but if you haven’t here is a picture of them!

20171028_1958472084116385.jpg

Nail wraps are nail stickers that apply to your nail and seal with heat (I used my hair dryer).  They last for a while and they don’t chip like nail polish does! There is no drying time spent worrying about accidentally denting a nail and redoing anything; just apply, heat, press, and voila! I heated the wraps multiple times while they were on my nails and while I shaped them so I would get the best seal I could.  I did have problems with the wraps lifting, but that was my own fault.  I am a novice at applying the wraps so they definitely weren’t perfect.  There were creases at the sides and I picked at them throughout the week (I know: BAD. Piece of advice: don’t pick at them, no matter how tempting it is!) so that did factor into the short wear time.

The nail wraps are great and I still have some left over! The next time I use them, I am certainly going to have a nail station with everything prepared in front of me so I won’t be scrambling for anything!

I stupidly forgot to take photos of when I wore the wraps, so I don’t have a picture of me wearing them.   I do plan on trying the nail wraps again and hopefully perfecting them, so when I do, I’ll be adding the images on this post!

20171028_195802168187957.jpg

Thank you so much, Laila, for sending me the nail wraps and for being so understanding about my late posting! I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart!

Laila’s links will be down below, so make sure to check them out!

I hope you have a fabulous week and don’t forget to smile and listen to amazing music!

Maple Holistics Conditioner Review

maple holistics banner

Hello, babes!

Welcome back to Glitz & Glitter!

Today’s post is a review of a product that was sent to me by Maple Holistics. You may have heard of them from Marielli (thelatinabeautyfix), a friend of mine who has an amazing blog! She has reviewed some of their products before and I am happy that I get to review one of their products for you guys!

I was sent the Hair Superfood Thickening Conditioner to test out a month or so ago, but due to the backup of blog posts and some crazy things in my personal life, I am just now getting to post this.

Let’s start off with a bit of factoids about the conditioner!

  • It is a thickening conditioner, so it is meant for thinning hair. Granted, I don’t have a problem with thinning hair, as my hair is quite thick naturally, but I still wanted to give this product a try!
  • It has a special tingling effect from the menthol and tea tree oil that are in the product. There are a lot of natural ingredients in this conditioner and I love the tingle!
  • It has Volumizing and Oil Therapy.

The conditioner is great and I really think it will be a great product for you if your hair is starting to thin out a bit and you want to get the volume back into your hair. Again, my hair is very thick, so I really can’t tell you if it made my hair thicker or not. My hair did seem to have a bit of volume to it, though, so that is a plus! The tingle is also great, especially since I used the conditioner with my Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo! Double the tingly clean effect!

I couldn’t find an exact price for the conditioner because I couldn’t find it on the website, but the conditioners on their website retail for around $12. If you are looking for a more natural conditioner that also combats thinning hair, I would suggest you give this a try!

Thank you to Maple Holistics for sending me this product!

I hope you guys have an absolutely fabulous week and don’t forget to smile!

Essence & Makeup Revolution review | Recent Ulta Buy

Ulta Purchase banner

Hello, babes!

We are so so close to fall and I am already feeling the fall vibes! I’ve been trying new makeup looks for a fall collaboration coming soon and I am so excited to show it to you guys! It will be out sometime this month, so be on the lookout for that! Also: I am going to be doing a small Blogmas series in December and I am already have a few ideas going for that! There is already one collaboration planned out for that, BUT I am looking for more bloggers to collaborate with! If you would like to collaborate with me for a Blogmas post that is all things festive and glitzy, please leave a comment below with your information or send me an email at glitzandglitterblog@gmail.com! I would love to work with you!

Okay, now that the announcements are out of the way, let’s jump into the reviews!

I went to Ulta this past Thursday and I was looking for a few things that were affordable and good quality. Granted I have never tried any products from Essence before now, so I had no clue if their products were great, but when I saw the display and how affordable the products were, I knew I had to give them a try! I picked out the Essence Cover Stick in “10 Matt Naturelle” and the gel nail polish in “53 Rock My World”. The cover stick was around $3 and the nail polish was $2, so they are really affordable!

The cover stick is fantastic! I was in desperate need of a good concealer and while I am not really a huge fan of concealer sticks, this one is one of my favorites now. It has great coverage without feeling super heavy and it is buildable. I just put some on my under eyes, nose, chin, and some on my forehead and blend out for great coverage and a good look. I don’t wear foundation much anymore, so a good concealer is great for me. Essence has done a marvelous job! The formula is really creamy and smooth, not streaky or too thick.

The nail polish is a dark grey/charcoal color that I am now in love with. I do recommend using two coats and not just one, like I did. It does cover really nicely, but there are a few streaky spots. If you are in a rush and only have time for one coat, be generous and you’ll do fine!

26749408_unknown

Next up is the Lip Amplification lip gloss from Makeup Revolution! The Makeup Revolution glosses were on sale for $2.49 that day, so I figured I should pick one up! I purchased the shade “Conviction” and while it looks like a dark brown in the package, it is actually a dark berry shade. When you build it up, it almost looks brown/black, but I rather like it. The formula is pretty good and it goes on smoothly. I had to apply it twice to make sure I had an even look and zero streaks. I’m a big fan of Makeup Revolution and I loved this gloss!

All of the products are absolutely awesome and I hope you check them out the next time you are at Ulta!

Have a great weekend, my loves! Don’t forget to smile and take your fabulous sass wherever you go!

My August Favorites

August.png

Hi, babes! Welcome back to my crazy corner of the internet!

This is the first monthly favorites post that I have posted and I am so excited to share a few new products with you guys!

26749056_unknown

Lately I have been using the Tea Tree facial cleansing wipes from Morgan Miller when I wake up in the morning, when I go to bed, and whenever I am getting ready to do my makeup. I’m super lazy and I think my face has actually looked a lot better since I started using the wipes! They are really affordable and I love them! I found them at Ross (my holy grail store!) for $4 and I am so happy that I found them!

26749024_unknown

The Wet N Wild Au Naturel eyeshadow palette in “Nude Awakening” has been my go-to eyeshadow palette lately! I’m currently working with another blogger for a fall collaboration coming out this month and I picked up this palette specifically for fall makeup looks to try out. It is very affordable (around $5), cruelty-free, and it is a drugstore brand. Wet N Wild does have some vegan products, but I don’t know if this palette is vegan or not. The colors in this palette are very pigmented and they range from creme vanilla shades (in both matte and shimmer) to dark gray and black. There are 5 shimmer shades and 5 matte shades, so you get a total of 10 different shades. It is a great buy and I love it!

If you have read some of my previous posts, you probably know that I am a face mask fanatic, especially when it comes to sheet masks! I can’t get enough of them. While I was at Ross, I picked up three different sheet mask packs: Morgan Miller vitamin C & Ginseng masks, Epielle Collagen 3-Step complete facial kit, and the Live Green natural olive masks. The Morgan Miller pack and the Live Green pack both have 5 sheet masks, while the Epielle kit contained two different masks, both had the bubble oxygen cleanser and the moisturizer serum included. I have tried both of those two masks and I love both of them! The Vitamin C and Ginseng mask makes my face feel refreshed and pampered in 2o minutes, which is fantastic for a little pick me up before going out again in the evening! The Epielle mask kit is absolutely amazing! The cleanser gets so bubbly and foamy and the moisturizer serum really makes my skin feel hydrated and fresh again. Then you go in with the mask for 20 minutes and that makes all the difference in the world! I love these two products!

26749104_unknown

Today I purchased the Mama Mia soundtrack (so technically it isn’t something I bought in August, but oh well!) and I am so obsessed! I had to listen to it on Spotify and I always used up all of my skips trying to get to my favorite songs. After a while of putting up with that, I just said “Forget it!” and was dead set on buying it. Today I went to a great bookstore and found a special edition of the soundtrack for $5! My hour and fifteen minute drives to college are going to be so much better now! Mama Mia, anyone?

26749120_unknown

I also purchased a Himalayan salt block that has three spots for tea light candles (from Ross..eheehee) and I set in my bathroom to give it a better look. I have gone through two sets of candles since I bought it. I am so obsessed with it! It’s so pretty! Do any of you guys have a salt lamp or candle holder?

That’s all I have for my August Favorites! Hopefully there will be even more finds in September! Fall is right around the corner and I can’t wait for all of the fall things!

Have a fabulous weekend and don’t forget to show off your fabulous smile!

Perfectly Posh Review

Hello everyone and welcome back to Glitz & Glitter!

Last week I was sent a package of samples from Perfectly Posh and I took the week to try them out! The absolutely lovely Brandy from Perfectly Posh sent me the products and she has been an absolute dream to work with! All of her links will be below and there are a few deals for you guys, too! Stick around to the end to see them!

img_3260
Top Row: (black circle containers) Apricots Overnight, Honey Honey lotion, Rio scrub, Dive In Chunk Bath Bar, Gender Bender Chunk Bath Bar. Bottom Row: Night & Day facial moisturizer, Pineapple Pick Me Up face mask, Skindelicious Snarky Butter, Bare It All Micellar Tonic, Rico Guave Chunk Bath Bar, Field Better Soon Chunk Bath Bar.

I was so excited to try out these products that I took pictures of them right after I opened the package! When I took a shower a few hours later, I tried out using the Chunk Dive In bath bar. It has been a week later and I am still using it! I love this soap bar so much and I feel super clean after using it in the shower. The product description says “This sea spray and musky amber bath bar moisturizes skin with argan oil and algae extract, while kaolin gives you  a deep clean.” Dive In is definitely one of my favorite products from the bundle of samples that I was sent!

After I got out of the shower, I washed my face and tried out the Pineapple Pick Me Up face mask and the Night & Day Natural Facial Moisturizer. The mask is packed with pineapple scent and made me feel like I should have been sitting on the patio of a paradise resort! Ten minutes later, I washed off the mask and applied the Night & Day moisturizer. The moisturizer smells amazing and reminds me of something medicinal in a natural way, if that makes any sense. The moisturizer has organic olive oil, lavender, and aloe vera, and I love the way they combine. Both of the products I adored and I will certainly use again!

I used the Rio scrub and the Snarky Butter products together and my hands have never been so soft! This product combo will be absolutely amazing in the winter time to keep your hands super soft and supple!

img_3258
L to R: Apricots Overnight, Honey Honey, Rio scrub.

Honey Honey lotion smells so good! I just put some on, actually. Honey Honey reminds me of two things: lemon (yellow) Starbursts and Chuck from Pushing Daisies. It is sweet, citrusy, and the best summer scent! It is staying on my desk until I run out of it!

Apricots Overnight….what can I say about this product other than it is my favorite and I am so heartbroken that I used up almost all of it! Apricots Overnight smells so good and I can’t get enough of it! I truly think that my skin has improved after using this product, too, so that is a major plus! You are supposed to apply Apricots Overnight and let the moisturizing mask do its work so you will wake up with soft skin, and it works! I love this product and I plan on buying the full size product soon!

The Bare It All micellar tonic was the first micellar water type product that I had ever used. What I loved the most about this product is that I could just apply it to a cotton ball and swipe it over my face to cleanse and remove makeup, and that was it! No washing or extra cleanser required! If you are a busy and on-the-go kind of person, this product is great for you!

Gender Bender is another one of my favorites! I have used this for the past two days in the shower and I can’t get enough of it! “Detoxing charcoal gives you a deep clean. Plus palm oil and shea butter leave your skin soft with a citrus and woodsy amber scent.” Gender Bender is great for guys or gals. The woodsy scent is masculine but the citrus scent adds hints of femininity, creating the perfect blend. I have always loved cologne and other masculine directed body washes, so Gender Bender quickly became one of my favorites!

Field Better Soon is a lovely lavender soap that I have actually been using to wash my face in the morning and at night. It’s light and summery scent is great for my face and it isn’t drying, so I have had no problems with using it as a face wash. I do recommend using a moisturizer afterward so your skin is perfectly soft!

Rico Guave is a tropical beach party in a bar of soap! It’s fun and summertime scent is absolutely glorious and I can’t get enough of it! The collection of Chunk Bath Bars I was sent are all amazing and I hope you give them a try!

I can’t wait for the fall/winter collection to arrive! Perfectly Posh is a great company and with friendly representatives like Brandy, you won’t want to stay away from their products!

My Favorite E.L.F. Products!

Hello, loves!

One of my favorite drugstore brands that is affordable and cruelty-free is E.L.F. (eyes, lips, face). They have a lot of wonderful products and today I am sharing my favorites with you!

There won't be any foundations, concealers, or powders because they don't carry my shade. I'm too pale for all of the lightest colors!

img_3279

Just recently, I purchased the E.L.F. baked highlighter in Moonlight Pearls and all I have to say is "WOW!". The highlight is buildable, has a great glow, and is really soft on the skin. The highlighter takes a while to build up when using a brush, so when I'm in a rush, I will literally just swipe the highlighter right onto my cheekbones and blend it with my fingertips. That probably isn't a great technique, but it works in a pinch!

26478640_unknown

The E.L.F. HD Cream Blush in "Superstar" is so pigmented! (Any Mannyacs out there? 😉 ) You just need a small dot of the product and it goes a long way! I use my beauty sponge to blend it out onto the apples of my cheeks to get a natural rosy glow.

The E.L.F. Matte Lip Colors are some of my favorite lip products that I have ever purchased! They are all creamy and rich formulas with a lot of color! I have three (a red and two nude colors) of their Matte Lip Colors and I live for all three of them! My current favorite is the shade Natural, a nude pink color.

For my lips, I love the Mint Maniac exfoliator to get my lips scrubbed and fresh! Two of my favorite moisturizing lipsticks from E.L.F. are the shades Berry Black and Ravishing Rose. Both shades are darker colors and I absolutely love them. I can't wait for fall to get here so I can wear these lipsticks with scarves, leggings, and cozy sweaters! A helpful hint: on the bottom of every E.L.F. lip product that comes in a lipstick tube (this includes the exfoliators, which I just found out a moment ago!) is a lip balm! If you pop out the little clear square bottom, there is a bit of lip balm! For the lipsticks, it is the shade of your lipstick and for the exoliators, it is clear!

Cool, right?!

Another E.L.F. product that I love is the Gotta Glow Lip Tint (not pictured) in the shade Perfect Pink. The lip tint is supposed to work with your lip chemistry to get the perfect shade for you! On my lips, this product comes out as a Barbie doll hot pink, so I use this product when I want a pop of pink!

Onto the eyes and eyebrows!

The Intense Ink Eyeliner was part of my most recent E.L.F. purchase. The precision tip makes flicking out a winged liner simple and clean! If you are in need of a good eyeliner, I would give this a try!

For my brows, I use the E.L.F. gel pomade and powder duo (I use the shade Medium), the E.L.F. small angled brush, the clear brow gel and mascara duo, and a small artist brush that I have. On days where I don't feel like messing around with the gel pomade, I will simply take the small artist brush and use the powder to fill in my brows after running a spooly brush through them. I then set my brows with the clear eyebrow gel. It is an easy look that works with natural makeup or just to make your brows more noticeable for a no-makeup kind of day.

Next up: Brushes!

Some of my favorite makeup brushes are from E.L.F.! They are affordable, good quality brushes that last!

The Beautifully Bare Blending Brush is used a lot in my makeup routine, mainly for blending out contour and bronzing powders. The brush is super soft and blends out makeup beautifully (surprise, surprise!).

The two brushes I use for contour and bronzer are the E.L.F. bronzing brush and the E.L.F. Professional Fan Brush (I use it to contour my nose). The bronzing brush really carves out my cheeks and applies the contour powder evenly.

I use a lot of E.L.F. brushes when I work with eyeshadow! The flat Eyeshadow Brush works well for packing shadows onto the eyelid and it is a staple in my eyeshadow brush collection.

The small Blending Eye Brush and the Professional Eye Defining Brush are two of my favorite makeup brushes! The blending brush blends out eyeshadow seamlessly and the eye defining brush fits into the crease of the eyelid to define (I am so original) and cut your crease! Both were around $1, so if you come across these brushes, buy them!

Other small brushes from E.L.F. that I love are the Lip Defining Brush (which I have honestly never used on my lips! I use it on my eyes and it would work really well for smoking out your lower lashes!), the Concealer Brush (for highlighting eyebrows), and the Small Angled Brush (I use it for my brows).

I have used E.L.F. face primers before and in my experiences, they worked pretty well. Their foundation was also really good. I actually wore it for around a year before realizing that the shade Porcelain was, indeed, much too tan for me!

I hope you guys enjoyed my E.L.F. favorites! Like I said before, E.L.F. is a cruelty-free drugstore brand that sells affordable products and I highly recommend that you try out their brand!

There is going to be a new post on Saturday, August 12th: a review for Perfectly Posh products!
