Stay On Track in 2022: 3 Tips

Holy cow, friends!

Can you believe it’s already 2022? After all of the ups and downs that last year held, I am grateful that there were many lessons that I learned during it all. One of the things I learned is how important it is to stay on top of my schedule and keeping a happy flow with organization. As a full time student who works and has a decent amount on her plate, I learned last year that staying on top of my schedule and having everything I needed laid out is better for my mental health! When I have my month planned out and can see what I have to do during my day, I feel on top of it. I figured that now is a great time to put together a list of things that have helped me stay on track!

Step One: Utilize Google Calendar!

I think the majority of us have a Google account and a Gmail account! If you do, one of the fun tools that Google provides is the Google calendar. I use my calendar every day to see what I have going on and what’s coming up during my week. Another thing that I like about using Google calendar is that I can share my schedule with any organizations I am in that need it for planning, or I can share it with a family member.

I also love to color coordinate my events and tasks with the pastel color pallet and I’m obsessed! Look how cute it is!

The best part is that I have access to my calendar on my phone with the app and on my computer. I pretty much live off of my calendar!

Step Two: Try to Stick to Your Schedule!

One of the hardest parts of getting my schedule on track was actually sticking to it! I’m the champ of waking up to alarm and staring at it blurry-eyed, inching to hit snooze. But the thing I realized is that when I actually get out of bed and start my routine, I feel put together. If I wake up with enough time to put on a quick face of makeup, get my outfit together, and pack my lunch, I’m doing myself a service! I am a happier person when I am organized and it has helped me so much. Set your alarm, plan ahead, and try not to hit snooze! (But if you do, there’s zero judgement from me because I have some mornings where I do too because let’s face it, an extra 10 minutes of sleep and some dry shampoo are worth it!)

Step Three: The Final Piece

Step Three is the most important step by far! Take care of yourself!! Taking time for yourself to make a yummy meal, do a face mask, or drink a glass of wine while you watch Netflix is so good for your mental and spiritual health and no matter how much you schedule into your day, it’s important to make time for yourself! This year we are taking care of ourselves and making us a priority!

I hope these little tips help you get organized this year and find some peace! Stay groovy, friends!

January Favorites

Happy Tuesday, my loves!

Today’s post is in collaboration with blogger and aspiring makeup artist Luci Barker! As I am sure you can tell by the title, this BP is all about my January favorites! Instead of just beauty items, I always like to include food, movies, music, etc. into favorites posts so you guys get a bit of variety. I feel like I haven’t written a favorites post in forever, so let’s get started!

Food

Two foods that I have been loving this month are Lenny and Larry’s Complete Cookie© and GourmetNut™ Power Up trail mix.

After I work out, I love something that is high in protein to munch on and Lenny and Larry’s Complete Cookie is one of my absolute favorites. I love the white chocolate macadamia, snickerdoodle, and the double chocolate cookies. There are so many different cookies to try and they also have protein brownies that have 20 grams of protein and muffins that have 15 grams of protein. The 4oz cookies are the ones that I buy in the stores and they have 16 grams of protein per cookie, which is 2 servings. All of Lenny and Larry’s yummy treats are very affordable and if you find them in stores, buy one and try it for yourself!

I don’t know about you, but I love trail mix! If a trail mix has cashews, peanuts, and a good variety of fruits, I will instantly be a repeat customer. GourmetNut™ has a really great line of Power Up protein trail mix that is a fruit and nut blend of cashews, peanuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, raisins, and cherries. I always grab a handful in a Ziploc and put it in my school bag so I have a snack to eat in between my college classes. Power Up trail mix is all natural, vegan, and gluten free. I buy mine at Walmart!

Beauty & Skincare

I recently purchased a cleansing power brush after seeing them all around Instagram. As of late, my skin has been breaking out and even with washing my face with charcoal soap and using other products, my face still broke out. Once I started using the brush, my face improved greatly! It really gets into my pores and whether I am using an acne targeting charcoal soap or a blackhead clearing baking soda cleanser, my skin looks so much better! I use the So Fresh So Clean© power cleansing brush and it is under $10 at Walmart.

This month, even though I have been using it for a wee bit but am just now using it regularly, I am so loving the Mario Badescu facial spray with rosewater, aloe, and herbs. I use it after I wash my face and it helps hydrate and tone my face. It smells really great, too!

Music

After seeing The Greatest Showman earlier this month, I have been loving the soundtrack! The music is soul touching and makes me want to dance around in a flowing dress while I belt my lungs out. The movie itself was also really good. I know some people were giving it bad reviews but I thought it was great. Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and the rest of the cast are stunning.

A few playlist that I love on Spotify are Pop Chill Out, Stepping Out With The Sixties, and All Out 80s. I listen to older music more often than I do newer music because I really dig the older sound and you can never go wrong with Fleetwood Mac or the Creedence Clearwater Revival!

So there you have it, my dears! My January monthly favorites! Make sure to go check out Luci’s post over on her blog!

Until next time!
