Quotes That I Live By

Quotes That I live by.png

Hi, babes!

Everyone has at least one mantra or quote that they live by. I have a few…okay, a lot, that I tend to apply to my life. I hope you enjoy and hopefully you find a new favorite quote!

  • “We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” – Albus Dumbledore

Yes, I just started things off with a quote from Harry Potter! There are a lot of great quotes from that series, but this quote in particular touches me and serves as a reminder that sometimes the right decisions in life won’t always be the easiest ones to make. In most cases, the right decision is a really hard thing to do and it would feel so much better to take the easy route, but it isn’t the right route.

  • “Wherever you are, be all there.” – Jim Elliot

I can’t really describe or tell you in a way that will make sense why this quote means something to me. It reminds me that even though you may not be where you want to be or you aren’t in the job you want to have, give everything your all and don’t slack at it. Give your 100%, even if it is something that you may not want to be doing.

  • “Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions.” – Robin Hood

This quote is one that I absolutely love. It is another quote that reminds me not to give up. Just living can be hard and there are plenty of days where I am ready to crumble and break, but I know I have to keep going. So “rise and rise again, until lambs become lions.”

  • “Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Joyful, Be Humble, Be Thankful.” – Mary Davis

I literally have no explanation for this. The quote says it all!

  • “And the stars blinked as they watched her carefully jealous of the way she shone.” – Atticus

In life, I want to serve as a good example for others and to inspire others. There are some days where I am overflowing with joy and happiness and there are other days where I am ready to rip someone to shreds. I won’t lie to you, I can be downright horrible when I have a mind to be. But I don’t want to be, I want to be shining so brightly that people need sunglasses! I have to remind myself to be happy, that I can control my emotions. Shine and let the stars be jealous.

  • “New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.” – Lao Tzu.

This will slightly relate to next week’s post. I have felt some painful endings, let me tell ya, but now I see it at what was a new beginning. Yes, during the ending I hurt so badly in my soul that I thought I would never be able to live. Overly dramatic?  Possibly. I lost someone close to me, they knew my every thought, but I didn’t lose them to death. This probably sounds bad, but death might have been better because when a person is dead, you don’t see them in this life again. Seeing a person (repeatedly!!) after heartache serves as a painful reminder of what was and then feelings come rushing back in and it sucks! BUT: it was a new beginning for me and I have changed because of it. A good change that made me grow as a person, and I am happy for it. Change isn’t always a bad thing.

  • “All I ask for is a life full of love and a love full of life.” – J Bird

In life, I want to get married to the love of my life and end up so very happy that I can hardly stand myself. If I never find anything else in life, I will totally fine with that, as long as I find love.

So there you have it! Those are some of the quotes that I love and live by! I can turn this into a two part series if you would like to see more of this kind of thing!

So sorry that this is a day late. I spent yesterday working at the local county fair because I was covering it for the local newspapers. I didn’t get home until 2:30 in the afternoon and by that point, I was tired and in the need of relaxation! I will have another post this week too, so be on the lookout for that on Wednesday!

I hope you have an absolutely fabulous day and don’t ever forget to smile!
